A Full-Home Remodel, Blending Contemporary Design With Classic Touches.
This remodel was all about mixing the old and the new through quiet luxury and stellar craftsmanship. The end result is a home that feels very timeless and elevated.

When we began working on this project, our main goal was to add lightness to the home. For the color scheme, we opted for a monochromatic one of white, gold, and light gray.
The ground floor level of this home is in an open-floor layout, and we began the remodel by switching up all the hard finishes. We replaced the existing flooring with large-format porcelain tiles and re-painted the walls and ceiling with a crisp Benjamin Moore paint (snow color.) For the kitchen countertops and backsplash, we opted for a Calacatta Ballet porcelain that has stunning, gold veins and blends really well with the flooring. We specified a waterfall edge for the fabrication and book-matched the backsplash. For the kitchen cabinets, we went for off-white door fronts with a classic shaker detail. This design choice was very intentional as we wanted to add some quiet, classic touches to the design. For the metals, we went for an interesting mix of brass hardware, a brass faucet, and Monogram stainless steel appliances.

Contemporary Design Meets Classic Architecture.

Unapologetic Glamour For A Chic Lifestyle.

When we began designing this home, it was very important for us to introduce some classic touches. Our clients wanted to go for a contemporary design style but also had an affinity for classical architecture.
To subtly blend both eras, we added classical accents throughout the home, mainly through Roman-style crown moldings and ceiling appliques.
To add to the classic European flair of the home, most of the walls and ceilings were retouched in Venetian Plaster, featuring various textural variations with cloud-and wave-like effects. These touches were done exquisitely and added true refinement to the home.
Our client's lifestyle is nothing short of chic and we wanted to make sure our design represented that.
The family room and bar were designed for entertaining in style. Being that the bar and family room areas are also in an open plan style, we wanted to make sure that the design was consistent throughout the spaces. To this end, we demolished the existing bar and fireplace wall and came up with a completely new design.
For the bar area, we opted for an L-shaped cabinetry layout, with a built-in wine cooler, to house our clients' liquor and glass collection. We also designed a new island, fabricated in a stunning Aurora Crystal quartzite, and carried that stone onto the surrounding countertops. We specifically chose this stone because of its crystalline properties and appealing veins. For the backsplash, we went for clear mirrors and laid a mother-of-pearl mosaic trim at the top section. Our client wanted the space to feel very dreamy, and to that end, we carried on the crystalline theme onto the crystal cabinet pulls.
For the family room, we wanted to design a fireplace wall that felt luxurious and expansive. We carried the same Aurora Crystal quartzite onto the fireplace surround and even laid it within the adjacent decorative panels. We also added some accents through the beautiful crystal sconces and designed some built-in cabinets with open shelves. We focused on styling these with very sculptural decor pieces that immediately draw the eye in. For the fireplace insert, we specified a contemporary, linear gas fireplace from Napoleon with reflective porcelain panels and crystal media.
Lastly, we wanted to make sure we carried the classical style into the family room, and to that effect, we continued the crown molding and ceiling appliques design into the space. The result is a luxurious, contemporary home that blends beautifully with all the subtle, classical touches.
