We are delighted to have attended last night's DAA (Designers & Architects Anonymous) event at the Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center for a panel talk on the common issues happening in today's supply chain industry. The panelists, Igor Royz, President & CEO of Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center, Ryan Sarkis, District Sales Manager at Southwest LG Electronics U.S.A, and Megan Reilly, Principal at WestEdge Design Fair, gave us an introduction to what is currently occurring in the supply chain industry and some helpful project management tips to avoid frustrating and costly mistakes.
If you are a homeowner or an Interior Designer, this blog is for you! Here are four tips we would love to share with you to ensure success for your project!
Tip #1 - Transparency
As we all know, transparency is the best policy- this requires early and honest conversations between Interior Designers and homeowners about the current supply chain situation. Appliances are being backordered, and lead times are very long. This should be clearly communicated, and Interior Designers must give homeowners several options early on.
Tip #2 - Plan Ahead
This brings us to the next tip- planning ahead. It is necessary to place appliance orders as early as possible. This ensures that no time is wasted and that appliances are ready for installation before project completion.
Tip #3 - Be Ready To Receive Orders
Due to the current crisis, appliance suppliers cannot hold ready-to-ship items in their warehouses for too long. This means that orders should be received promptly as soon as they are ready to ship. It is helpful to store appliances in their packaging prior to installation to avoid frustration and further project delays.
Tip #4 - Don't Wait For Price Drops
Lastly, we would like to be honest about price drops- they aren't happening anytime soon! On the contrary, the supply chain industry is having constant price increases. Therefore, it is very important to place appliance orders sooner rather than later!
